    Hi,

I downloaded the iso file of damnvulnerablelinux, and it has also 4 files more:
    DamnVulnerableLinux_Strychine_e605.vmdk
    DamnVulnerableLinux_Strychine_e605.vmsd
    DamnVulnerableLinux_Strychine_e605.vmx
    Other Linux 2.6.x kernel.nvram

    what are these files for?
Can I burn just the iso, or I have to burn these files too in the same dvd?

    thanks in advance

The following files are if you want to run the ISO under VMWare Player:

    DamnVulnerableLinux_Strychine_e605.vmdk
    DamnVulnerableLinux_Strychine_e605.vmsd
    DamnVulnerableLinux_Strychine_e605.vmx
    Other Linux 2.6.x kernel.nvram

else, the ISO can be burned on a DVD. You do not have to burn the vmware files!

Thanks, I probably use vmware too

    Hi,
I just tried the latest iso file, but AcroRead is nowhere to be found… And without it, a lot of pdf cannot be read :( ? Is AcroRead missing in the ISO file ?

    Thanks for.

OK, I saw the problem. What you explained is for DVL 1.4 and for the moment it is only possible to d/l DVL 1.3 . Is it already possible to d/l somewhere via SVN ?

    Thanks.

SVN for a 1.4 GB ISO? DVL 1.4 is currently beta, we still need tofix some bugs

Oups, you are right for the SVN :) . Is there any possibility for the moment to read the xss_anatomy PDF within DVL? It seems that KPDF cannot display it well.

    Thanks.

xpdf is a solution as well, even it is not AcroRead…

Unfortunately it is not better with xpdf :( . But this is not very important, as the rest is really good. Thanks for that.
