Assembly Language - How to start?

June 4, 2007 · Filed Under DVL Project

I am often confronted with the question “how to start with assembly language programming”. One solution could be to install a DVL related assembly language programming course.

The “how” is the most problematic question. Should it be theoretical or practical style? Mentorship based or self-education? Exercises with solutions or not? Or more like a challenge from easy to hard?

I try to plan something, place your comments on it below…

introduction into assembly language is difficult. it should start with an introduction (theoretical) or with a howto. commented source code examples are important.
as next step increasing challenges are nice.

This is what we will do. Theory and the HowTo is planned as video at the moment, exercises are finished (70 pages with about 150 exercises). We will take the best exercises and use them for practical training. They are increasing in difficulty so they are challenge like.
